Local Area Administrative Volunteer – Yorkshire

Volunteer role: Local Area Administrative Volunteer – Yorkshire

Purpose: To provide administrative support to your Local Coordinator.

 

Team: Local Areas Programme

 

 

Location: Community based activities in Yorkshire and working from home.

Time commitment: Time spent volunteering can be flexible, but we do expect a minimum of 4 hours per week for a minimum of 1 year. Subject to activities some evening or weekend support may be requested.

Duties may include:

  • Organising mailings, distribution of fundraising/awareness materials, filing, writing e-mails and newsletters, processing payments
  • Processing volunteer applications and seeking references for volunteering positions
  • Assisting in the process of advertising for, recruiting and training new volunteers
  • Updating databases including recording volunteer activity
  • Researching and prospecting future areas of locally based activity to assist our service delivery, fundraising and awareness raising activities
  • Supporting your Local Coordinator in any other administrative tasks as requested

 

Skills and experience:

  • Good communicate skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organisational skills and good time management
  • Competence using computers, Microsoft office, Internet, e-mailing, databases. Access to your own computer would be desirable but not essential
  • Attention to detail and a systematic approach 
  • Passionate about supporting missing people and their families

 

Training:

All necessary training will be provided by your Local Coordinator

Support:

You will be supported in your role by your Local Coordinator, including one to one reviews to guide you in your role, with additional support when necessary from central office.
