| Missing People Launch The Missing Blog |
|
More than 350,000 reports of missing people are made in the UK every year. The charity has launched a new blog - The Missing Blog - to give a voice to all those involved and affected by this issue. Published every Wednesday and written by families and friends of missing people, supporters working to raise awareness of the cause, and volunteers and staff at Missing People, we hope the blog will offer a window into the complex issue of missing. The first Missing Blog post (06 April 2011 and still available to view) was written by Missing People's Chief Executive Martin Houghton-Brown and investigated the possibility of "Lost Children Tents" at major events as a way to connect with the public and remind parents of the much wider issue of missing people. This week, Missing People's Director of Policy and Research, Geoff Newis, asks what impact the recently-announced cuts to police funding will have on local forces' ability to provide missing person services. Read Geoff's thoughts in the second post on The Missing Blog here.
