| Missing People at BGC Charity Day |
|
On Monday 12 September, a host of celebrity supporters including Louise Minchin, Nick Ross, Alistair Stewart and Kirsten O’Brien attended the 7th Annual Global BGC Charity Day on behalf of Missing People, which had been chosen as a beneficiary of the Charity Day.
BGC is one of the world's leading inter-dealer brokers, and its Charity Day is an event started six years ago to commemorate the 600 BGC staff killed during the September 11 terrorist attacks (the business lost most of its American workforce that day). Since then, BGC has held a trading day every year where all trading proceeds go to global charitable causes and, as it’s the 10th anniversary of the attacks, this year’s Charity Day was especially significant and memorable. Missing People’s celebrity supporters and staff were joined by service users including the Nightingale family and Kate McCann, mother of missing Madeleine McCann, who all walked around the trading floor, to meet and thank everyone at BGC for their support of the charity. |
